Both the best and the worst to do *anything* modern-related with because he will have sooo many questions
Even simple things to us like the colder dairy section will amazing him because sorcery? Magic? How do humans change the temperature in one part of the building without affecting the rest of it?
Fascinated by the concept of mass food production and importing. There are so many things from so many countries bought into Japan on a daily basis

A literal child in the sense that he will be everywhere, reading everything on every product to see what it was and what he could use it for
Creates recipes in his head right there in the middle of the ‘World Foods’ aisle
Since there are so many foods in the future that don’t exist in the Sengoku period (cheese!!!) he’d want to buy all of your favourite things/the things he’s never seen before
Will buy all the seasonings and ingredients he can and hoard them
When he does find something he reaaally likes, he’ll beg, or force ;) you to tell him how to make or where to find the ingredients so he can get everyone else to try it back home (if possible)
“Everyone else needs to eat this, I’ll make sure they do!”

Why is it so loud? So bright? So many people? Why?
Unsurprisingly, this sour bun had a trademark pout on his face when he entered the supermarket
As soon as he sees you put something into the metal basket thing on your arm he grabs it from you and holds it himself
So first he’s forced to come to this place and now he has to hold your stuff too?
Not that he minds, of course, because he loves you… and because there are masses of red pepper flakes available for him to buy right away just like that
Oh, and a hairbrush
Finds it a weird place and still isn’t too fond of it does think it’s impressive and very convenient
Turns out shopping isn’t actually that bad, but only if you’re there with him

Of course he’s already told you beforehand that he’ll buy you anything you want and he’ll hold everything and you don’t need to worry at all ^^
So deciding to teach him a lesson on how to rely on others every once in a while, you tell him
“Yoghurt, cornflour, sliced bread, a packet of cookies, Coco Pops…”
Poor man is so confused because what are all of those things? Coco Pops? Pop? Fireworks? What? Why sliced bread? Slice? Knife? Why do you want that?
After a valiant battle he finally relents and let’s you do all the shopping while mostly just he walks with you
You pay for the food too (because what is a till? Cash?) but he still holds the bags for you afterwards :)

For the most part he holds your basket and your hand and walks with you, uninterested in the food itself
Quickly picks up on the fact that there are a several people all wearing the same clothes moving food around the shelves, so they must be the workers
Has no problem asking them where things are if you’re too scared to ask them yourself lolol
He does stay in the alcohol aisle for longer than deemed healthy though
Why are there so many different types? Where’s the regular sake?
Takes the p*ss when you spend too long comparing prices, quality, size etc of the food though, “it’s all the same just buy it, what is the difference between ‘normal’ and ‘slightly salted?’”

Straight up shocked when you pick something up, put it into your basket, and then just walk away
“Wait MC you didn’t pay for that, not that I would ever accuse you of stealing, I sure you just forgot to,” (*^▽^*)
So then you explain how everything works in supermarkets because he will not be satisfied until he knows exactly how this building functions
Idec he will get lost, but he wouldn’t even know it?
He’d just walk off looking at everything in wonder, not a care in the world regarding what was going on around him
Drives you crazy you actually contemplate using the tannoy to find him
When you do find him he’s in a passionate debate with of the poor workers about the layout of the store, how there isn’t enough security, that the design wasn’t very efficient and that this plan would work much better

“There are too many people here, let me get them out of your way-”
“Kenshin, no!” “Kenshin, yes!”
Jokes aside this man really would not appreciate all the hassle, the people rudely brushing past him, the fact that you have to go out and get everything yourselves
So once he finds out about online shopping he is a very happy bunny
Anyway, through the whole trip he keeps asking you where the pickled plums are and doesn’t understand when you tell him you can’t get it because the real stuff is SO expensive
You have to explain what artificial is, and that organic ones that he eats are just pricey in this time
He still doesn’t care because in his eyes it is a worthy investment so now you’re broke 🙃

Buys out the entire confectionery section - takes at least one of every sweet product in the store with no apologies
Loves the idea of going shopping with you, getting to experience everything you did, even if they are ‘normal’ to you, makes him happy
He doesn’t stop with the cheesy compliments though so you attract quite a lot of stares from the disapproving old people
Besides the sweets he isn’t particularly interested in anything else
But always notices when you see something you like but don’t take, so he secretly puts it into the trolley himself because his princess should be buy whatever she wants without worry
“So this is what would be accomplished if Nobunaga actually dies…” wait what?

“Why exactly do I have to be here with you?” Another member of the this-place-is-annoying club
Honestly he’s a little intimidated by the sheer size of it all so he grumpily trails behind for the most part
Said he only came along because he didn’t know what to do home alone but you can tell he’s a little excited
After a while he slowly builds the confidence to point at something and just goes, “what is that supposed to be???”
A lot of the time he’ll just think most ‘modern’ inventions are stupid because why have fruit in syrup in a tin why not just buy real fruit?
So you spend a lot of the time explain the concept of ‘being too broke to afford real food’ to him
He finds it hilarious and laughs at you but after a while he desperately seeks out a job because his stomach cannot handle any more pot noodles

Sasuke:
You both ran to the frozen section the second you get back because PIZZA AND ICE CREAM
‘Modern’ food is one thing that you both sorely missed when you were in the Sengoku era
One of the sales assistants found you both crying with milk bottles in your hands
When you’d both calmed down, shopping was just as normal as it had been (apart from the fact that you decided to treat yourselves the first few times instead of “adulting” and having a budget)
Once in a while though, you’d catch Sasuke pick up an orange or something and ask the nearest worker how much it was, before trying to haggle on the price XD
You had to drag him away and remind him that it wasn’t a market anymore and the you couldn’t ‘negotiate’ prices here

Isn’t really used to being out in public, especially around so many people
Doesn’t really enjoy the concept of supermarkets because they seem stressful and difficult to navigate
Not that you have to worry, this man is so big you easily wade your way through the crowds if need be
Can also reach the really high things from the shelf for you :3
More than willing to help, if he’s making things just a little bit easier for you he’s fine, and you’re smiling too
Doesn’t really like talking to the staff, also prefers self-checkout
Is very supportive of sustainability when it comes to food - the least damage done to the planet the better, so is always trying to look for the environmentally-friendly products
I have so much motivation for IkéSen but I’m still trying to find my footing ^^;; Please let me know what you thought~
